Xie Xia 泻下 — bitter roots and leaves

The Chinese tradition reads the body as a play of directed movements; the descending side is one of them. The “Xie Xia” (泻下) family gathers bitter and cold matter that the ancient texts attach to this direction — traditionally of brief use.
